In 2011 the company listings section will run as a free service for standard company listings with the service being available to all businesses.
Q: How much does a Company Listing cost?
A: Free standard company listings will be valid for one year and will include all basic company details and a 50 word company description. An extra 50 words to the company description is $50, an extra 100 words is $100. For a branded company listing (a standard company listing plus a colour logo) the cost is only $50.
Q: How do I list the contact details of my business in the HortSource directory?
A: The easiest way is to visit the
"Sign Up" page on this website, and fill in the form. That way we can add your listing to our online directory. Or you can call one of the HortSource team on 0800-247-424 or email

Q: What do I enter into the field labelled ‘copy’, when filling out the form?
A: Up to 50 words summarising your business or product. Have a look in our listings section to see what other companies have done, to get an idea of this. You can pay for an extra 50 words & logo too.
Q: Do I need to upload a logo with my listing?
A: The addition of a colour logo to your listing is a good way of making it stand out from other listings, increasing your company branding. Please email your logo to be included to:

Q: I am planning on moving location, or changing vital aspects of my business. Should I wait until then to send in my listing info?
A: No, because when you sign up, you get a login name and password that you can use to access your listing at any time and update it. Or you can
contact us and we'll update it for you straight away.
Q: Whereabouts will my listing appear on your website?
A: You can categorise your listing after you have filled in your listing details on the "Sign Up" page. There are eleven main categories, most of which are further split up into sub-categories. For example, you might choose the main category ‘Equipment providers’ and then the sub-category ‘Tools & Machinery’. Your listing will then be added to that category of the listings section.
Q: Can I list my business more than once?
A: Yes, this would be an efficient way to be in the directory, for example if you needed to be in two different categories. A business that supplies Fertiliser as well as a Ground-Spreading service would be best off listing once in the Input Providers/Fertiliser section, and once in the Service Providers section. Please be aware that the cost is applied per category.

Q: Who should be listed on the website?
A: Businesses that supply growers with a product or service need to be listed, as this gives their whole market an easy way to source their contact information. Growers and Marketing Companies looking to export their produce also need to be listed, as overseas buyers will be able to use HortSource to source NZ produce.
